Health Care: Green Card

Worried about expensive hospital bills?  Looking for an affordable health care plan?  Residents of Las Piñas need not look far, as they can avail of a free hospitalization package worth Php 25,000, care of the local city government. 

Las Piñas City Mayor, Vergel “Nene” Aguilar, is key in strengthening the city government’s hospitalization program to support to those who are in need of financial assistance with the high cost of medical care.  Health care is now more accessible to Las Piñas residents with the Green Card.

Since the implementation of the Green Card in the year 2000, there are currently over 50,000 residents who are qualified for the program, and are considered Green Card holders. 

With such efforts to make health services available to city residents, the city of Las Piñas was given the prestigious “Sentrong Sigla” award by the Department of Health, for having the finest health facilities and programs throughout the country.

Benefits of the Green Card:

  • Hospitalization package worth Php 25,000, which covers minor surgical operations and confinement.
  • Medical and dental services in 28 modern health centers.
  • Pregnant women may avail of better maternal care and child delivery in the modern and fully air-conditioned Las Piñas Maternity Clinic.
  • Accredited in the following hospitals: Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, San Juan de Dios Hospital, and Philippine General Hospital.

Qualifications:

  • Residents will have to go through a comprehensive evaluation and examination from the city government health doctors before being granted a Green Card.  Each beneficiary can use his card to facilitate hospitalization process. 
  • City government employees and public school teachers are automatic beneficiaries of the program.

To avail of the program, residents can directly go the following offices: Office of the Mayor, or the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office located at the back of the City Hall.

Requirements: 

  1. Photocopy of Voter Registration Record (VRR) / Voter’s ID (VIN)
  2. Photocopy of Certificate of Marriage, if married
  3. Photocopy of Birth Certificate of unmarried children
  4. Photocopy of Voter Registration Record (VRR) / Voter’s ID (VIN) of unmarried children 21 years old and over
  5. Barangay Certificate / Clearance (for Greencard)
  6. Two (2) pieces identical 1x1 photo taken within one (1) year
  7. Photocopy of Community Tax Certificate (CEDULA)
