Some 15,670 graduating students from the public elementary and high schools in Las Piñas City will enjoy an all-expense paid graduation ceremony this March, a tradition kept by Mayor Vergel ‘Nene’ Aguilar for years.

The graduation assistance covers rental of toga, diploma, food and transportation allowance in going to graduation venue at Verdant Acres covered court in Brgy. Pamplona 3.

On top of these, Mayor Aguilar also gives out cash incentives to top honor students such as P3,000 for valedictorian; P2,000 for salutatorian; P1,000 each for the first to fifth honorable mention.

“Education is a legacy I wish to pass on to Las Piñeros. I also want to spare the parents from the burden of graduation expenses, hence this assistance,” Aguilar said.

Graduating students from the city’s 22 public elementary schools are 9,156 Grade 6 students, while there are 6,515 to receive their diploma from 12 public high schools.

Schedule of graduation ceremony for elementary students will be on March 18 o 21, and on March 21 to 23 for high school.

Meanwhile, Aguilar called on candidates to refrain from using commencement exercises in any form of political campaign and just allow the students and their parents to enjoy and celebrate this significant event. (END)
