Tuloy-tuloy na serbisyo

Our Home

Las Piñas - Our Home - is a showcase of dynamic modern communities, historical sites, and effective local governance. Home to the famous Bamboo Organ, it is also home to hundreds of residential subdivisions, numerous commercial establishments, educational institutions, and industrial complex. Once a fishing village known for its salt beds and jeepney factories, it has transformed into one of the most forward moving cities of Metro Manila. By Virtue of a legislative fiat in 1997, Las Piñas was granted cityhood status after 90 years of its foundation as independent municipality.

Geographically, Las Piñas City is located south of Metro Manila and gateway to the Calabarzon (Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon) areas. It is a part of the cities and municipalities comprising the National Capital Region (NCR). It has a total land area of 41.54 sq. kilometers half of it occupied by real estate properties. The city of Parañaque is at its north/northeast side while the eastern/southeastern part is bounded by the city of Muntinlupa. From its west/southwest boundary is the municipality of Bacoor, Cavite and Manila Bay is at its northwest side.

The best practices in local governance can be found in the Tuloy-tuloy na Serbisyo program of the city government. The Tuloy-tuloy na Serbisyo program paved the way for the institutionalization of policies like: the issuance of Green Card for every resident to avail of free hospitalization; free IT and college education at the city-run colleges; decent housing through the urban poor renewal and development program; and free livelihood and skills training for would be entrepreneurs.

The increased presence of modern infrastructure, growing number of day care centers, and accessibility of modern primary health care centers are hallmarks of the city as well. These exemplary programs won recognitions from agencies such as: United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Department of Health (DOH), Gawad Galing Pook Foundation, Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Asian Institute of Management (AIM). In fact, Las Piñas City is a hall of famer in the Cleanest and Greenest City Award winning it for three consecutive years.

Las Piñas City is continually evolving: progressive but with deep respect for heritage. Always in touch with its vision of a livable City with caring and warm communities composed of nurturing and socially productive families.

Tuloy-tuloy na Serbisyo embodies the present local city government’s commitment to its constituents. These programs helped shape what the city is right now: clean and green; forward-moving; peaceful; pro-people; and proud of its heritage.
