Mayor Imelda T. Aguilar - in her administration’s effort to find viable solutions to ease traffic congestion in major roads of the city- held a dialogue recently with the owners and operators of public transportation vehicles in Las Pinas. The public transport sector representatives were briefed about the city government’s plan for a central transport terminal. Another recommendation raised in the dialogue was the formation of a federation of transport groups in Las Pinas. They were also urged to support the enforcement of the loading and unloading scheme devised by the Las Pinas CityTraffic Management Office and impose discipline among their drivers.
The dialogue was well received by both parties; transport owners and operators promised to support the initiatives of the city government. Mayor Imelda T. Aguilar would like to engage more the transport sector to find innovative solutions to the traffic problem.
