Green Card is synonymous with the health care system of Las Piñas. Every bonafide resident is entitled to free hospitalization worth PhP 30,000 subsidized by the city government. The hospitalization package includes minor operation and confinement accredited at Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, San Juan De Dios Hospital, and Philippine General Hospital and Medical Center. This is apart from free access to medical and dental services in 30 modern health centers in the city. For mothers and their children, the Las Piñas Maternity Clinic ensures the delivery of high quality maternal and child health care.
The Green Card Program was implemented in the year 2000 and to date there are more than 80,00 Green Card holders. It has contributed tremendously to the democratization of health care in the city and the upliftment of the quality of life of its residents.
These efforts of the city government in making health care one of its top priorities – upgrading health facilities and introducing sustainable health programs – was recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) through the Sentrong Sigla Award.
