Free education is the best legacy of the city government to the youths of Las Piñas.
For those inclines in information technology (IT) may enroll at Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Information Technology Traning Institute (DFCAITTI), also subsidized by the city. Diploma courses like computer programming, computer technology, and graphic arts are offered to 2,000 high school graduates every year. On top of the free tuition, students are provided with free transportation for them not to miss their classes. Most of its graduates are now gainfully employed as a programmers, computer technicians and graphic artists.
The strengthening of the basic education sector is always at the agenda of Mayor Nene Aguilar and the city officials. Twelve public high schools and 22 elementary schools were constructed to accommodate the growing number of the enrollees every year.
To date, there are 77 day care centers with feeding program in 20 barangays of Las Piñas. Children at these centers are given food with high nutritional value that contribute to their intellectual and physical growth.
